How to Recycle Platinum Palladium and Rhodium From Catalytic Converter

RECOVERING PLATINIUM, PALLADIUM AND RHODIUM FROM CATALYTIC CONVERTERS

The ceramic part cut away from the exhaust using hydrolic scissors is grinded in a ball mill.
The oil which is left unburnt on the ceramic of catalytic converter is broiled.
It is put into the leach tank in 50kg parties. Chloric acid is given to the tank. It is fed with a mixture of pressured hot air and chlor gas. It is subjected to reaction for minimum 6 hours.
The empty tank is then taken to the filter, and the ceramic and the solution are seperated.
Platinium and palladium in the solition are recovered by active carbon.
The solition can be reused many times.

50gr is taken from the ceramic in catalytic converter, which is now free of platinium and
palladium, and it is subjected to rhoidum test.
If there is rhodium in it, it is put into the leach tank once again and is put into another min. 6-hour-reaction using a methot which we will provide to you.

At the end of the reaction, the ceramic in the filter is filtered and the solution is seperated. Rhodium is precipitated and filtered.
The purpose of using the leach tank with a 50kg capacity is to have the reaction easily under control and to take away the predicted rhodium (if there is any) from the classified ceramics, and if there is no rhodium, to give up the reaction in order to prevent time and chemical loss.

For larger capacities in catalytic converter recycling, we recommended using more leach tanks again with 50kg capacities.

Catalytic Converter Recycling Process

In 21th century there are a big bazaar for catalytic converters and catalytic converter recycling in all over the world. Especially USA and Germay there are high tech catalytic converters recycling fabrics.

However peoples want to know the technich of catalytic converter recycling but its a big secret ! Some catalytic converters reycyling fabrics can recycle platium and palladium from catalytic converters, but the most important point is recover the rhodium element for catalytic converter recycling.

Today there are over 100 big metal producter company in the world are wondering the technich of recycling rhodium form catalytic converters. These companies are spending millions dollars for investigation and development for learning catalytic converter recycling.
